Festival of Latin American Classical Music composed for piano, voice, and guitar. Sones Sureños (Southern Sounds or Southern Songs), aptly describes this week of study and music making. Leading exponents will explore Latin American art music composed for piano, voice, and guitar. The Utah State Office of Education has announced the Alpine School District will offer a dual immersion program in Portuguese at Rocky Mountain Elementary School, beginning in Fall 2012. Rocky Mountain has been in touch with the Spanish and Portuguese Department at BYU to help offer support for their program. Other immersion programs in Portuguese will be offered at Parkside Elementary in Murray School District, and Lakeview Elementary in Provo, also beginning in Fall 2012.
