BYU - Spanish Language Fair

SPANISH FOREIGN LANGUAGE FAIR & ESPAÑOLANDIA

Thursday, APRIL 17^th, 2008 / (8:00AM - 12:00PM)*

* The deadline for registration is March 15.
Any forms postmarked or hand-delivered after that date will be accepted only if accompanied by a $50 late fee.
In addition, no guarantee of registration in the Language Bowl or Skits can be made for late forms.

The Foreign Language Fair comprises several competitions plus a simulated mini-country named Españolandia.
Although Españolandia is incorporated into the overall FL Fair, it does have its own Registration Form,
instructions and preparatory materials (Guía).

FOREIGN LANGUAGE FAIR INFORMATION

	General Information: A welcome letter with general rules regarding participation in the FL Fair, including schedule of assemblies and events. It also includes information regarding the Sweepstakes competition.
	Event Rules and Instructions: The rules for each of the competitive events, e.g., Language Bowl, Skits, Poetry Recitation, Prepared Talks, Humorous Stories, etc.
	Registration Forms: This document includes the Registration Forms for both the Fair in general AND for Españolandia.
	Sweepstakes Rules: Information on how we calculate points for the Sweepstakes Competition and awarding of trophies. (This document is also included in the “General Information” document above.)
	Frequently Asked Questions: A document that will answer many of your questions.
	A calendar that includes the dates until 2010.

	Bienvenidos: General instructions for Españolandia.
	La Guía de Españolandia: Materials to help you prepare your students to have an enjoyable and successful visit to the country of Españolandia.
	The following activities were prepared to help your classes be better prepared for your trip to Españolandia. Try to match the tasks with related themes in your textbook or content units. You can work on one task per week/chapter/lesson/unit. Use the task as a component of students’ speaking grade; test students in pairs and assign grades… and above all, have fun!!
