How to Find My Internship

There are many different ways to find an internship that will enrich your undergraduate experience. Whether you find an internship on your own or participate in an long established internship, all internships must meet certain requirements. Before exploring internships, please review the Internship Requirements.

Domestic Internships

Below are resources you can use to find a great internship here in the states. Some of these resources are found here on campus, others are national organizations that offer internship opportunities. These are not the only resources for finding an internship, as many students find their own internship through other resources, but these are a good starting point.

The Ballard Center

Ballard Center internships allow students to put their social innovation skills into practice while gaining real-world experience. The Ballard Center connects students with internship opportunities at the most socially innovative organizations. We offer on-campus (Social Innovation Projects and Corporate Social Impact Projects) and off-campus opportunities.

On Campus Internship

BYU Offers many great internship opportunities right on campus.

HCOLL 494R

Provides a unique, on-campus opportunity for students to build high-demand professional skills as they gain relevant experience in one of the fastest-growing global industries. In addition to providing a platform for students to strengthen their resume, HCOLL 494R focuses on helping students develop the learning patterns they will need to build a personally meaningful life and career.

Virtual Student Federal Services

Work on projects to help the efforts of the U.S. government through agencies such as the Department of State and many more.

Utah State Legislature Internship

This internship affords students from every major the opportunity to participate in the legislative process.

International Internships

Below are resources you can use to find a great internship abroad. Some of these resources are through the Kennedy Center here on campus, others are other organizations that offer international internship opportunities.

Spain Internship

Professional internships are available in fields such as museum curation, education, translation and interpretation, design, international relations, and public administration. Internship providers may include the Prado Museum, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Justice and other museums and cultural organizations.

Brazil Internship

In partnership with the Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros (IEB) at the University of São Paulo and the Fundacão Casa de Rui Barbosa in Rio de Janeiro, professional internships are available in the field of museum curatorship and archival administration. Other internships are available in the fields of accounting, translation, and marketing.

Spain Cultural Ambassadors

This internship provides an opportunity to work hand in hand with K–12 students in Madrid and surrounding areas as well as the experience of teaching in a different country and learning about their educational system.

Portugal SiPN

In partnership with the Study in Portugal Network (SiPN), professional internships are available in fields such as neuroscience, medical research, investment banking, international diplomacy and government, design, marketing, and public administration. Fluency in Portuguese is not required for many of the internships offered in Portugal.

Spain OleSAY

The Spain OléSAY internship program provides a unique cultural and educational experience designed to help advance students acquire professional and cultural competencies that will allow them to prepare for life after the university. We can place interns in the following fields: Science, Business, and Engineering.

United Nations Development Programme

Are you dedicated to world development and want to gain practical experience to complement your studies?
Internships at UNDP are a great opportunity for students and recent graduates to acquire direct exposure to UNDP's work.

International Monetary Fund

The International Monetary Fund has a key position in promoting the health of the world economy. To maintain stability and prevent crises in the international monetary system, the IMF conducts surveillance of national, regional, and global economic and financial developments. The IMF also provides countries with training to help them build the expertise and institutions they need for economic stability and growth.

Self-Reliance Services

The Church’s self-reliance program teaches members self-reliance principles in the areas of leadership, education, employment and small business development. BYU collaborates with the Church in Latin America by sending qualified students to help support the self-reliance programs in different cities. Offered Winter and Spring/Summer
