How to Fund My Internship

There are many resources students can use to fund their internships. Below are a few resources to consult first.

Humanities+ Internship Funding

Eligible applicants with a major in the College of Humanities will be funded as follows:
Internships in Utah, but off-campus: $500
Domestic internships outside Utah: $1000
International internships: $1500-$2500, depending on program cost and financial need
Eligible applicants with a minor only in the College of Humanities will be funded at half those amounts.

Foreign Language Area Studies Scholarship

A U.S. Department of Education scholarship to encourage the study of specific underrepresented languages (see website for more information). HUMGrants

The BYU ORCA grant program is now the BYU Humanities Undergraduate Mentoring Grants program (HUM grants). As part of the college support for experiential learning, HUM grants offer resources for student-initiated, faculty-mentored research projects outside the classroom. Students can apply to the College of Humanities, with a faculty mentor’s endorsement, for up to $1,200 in scholarship funding to support their work.

Life Sciences Travel Grant

The purpose of Life Science Internship Travel Grants is to encourage research and promote academic internships. Students who are interested in applying for college support should first contact their department to request financial assistance from the department for travel expenses. Once the department has approved funding for travel, students may complete the application. Follow the link to see the requirements for the grant.
